Drug Prevention

There are currently 15 million drug users in the United States and an increasingly large number of those are children. Ours is a nation that largely praises quick fixes and easy relief, which leads to drug experimentation followed by drug addiction. (Narconon International)

Adolescent Drug Prevention - Free online videos are used as a tool for parents, educators, teen groups, and law enforcement to educate youth on the risks of drug abuse.
   
American Council for Drug Education - So much of what we do is to help young people avoid drug and alcohol problems. But you need the knowledge and skills to make this easier. Great location for lesson plans of for kids of all ages.

First Grade Plus - An educational website where primary teachers and other educators will find free materials to supplement their drug prevention curriculum.
   
Kids Net - Kids.Net.au is an Australian 'not for profit' kids safe portal, that is updated and maintained by a team of volunteers.
   
National Inhalant Prevention Coalition (NIPC) - works with state agencies, schools, businesses, trade associations, media, civic organizations, law enforcement, Poison Control Centers and interfaith groups throughout the country to educate and devise multifaceted awareness and prevention campaigns designed to educate youth and adults about the debilitating effects of these dangerous gateway drugs. NIPC also provides inservice training for educators.
   
NIDA for Teens - The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), created this Web site to educate adolescents ages 11 through 15 (as well as their parents and teachers) on the science behind drug abuse. NIDA enlisted the help of teens in developing the site to ensure that the content addresses appropriate questions and timely concerns.

Parents - The Anti-Drug - super site for parents and educators to learn what to look for in drug abuse.  The site is more than just about drugs, it covers many different areas related to abuse.
   
Talking with Kids on Touch Issues - Great site for parents and educators to talk with kids on different issues from Drugs to Terrorism.
   
The Partnership for Drug Free America - Need Help? Get Help! Drug prevention, drug abuse, drug intervention, drug treatment and recovery. This site provides answers, guidance, tips and stories.
